RPM
is Star Micronics new way of providing a comprehensive measure
of print speed. RPM provides the most accurate way to measure
the true speeds of a POS printer when printing plain or graphic-rich
receipts. Today’s designed printers now use the latest
high-speed processors, chips and interfaces resulting in unbelievably
high speed, making the traditional method of measuring print
speed misleading. Star will now adopt this new unit of measurement
(RPM) for its thermal printers. This
will measure the actual time taken to produce an entire
receipt from the moment it is requested by the software
to when it is produced, or throughput,
which takes into account the investment which has been put
into the overall "build". |
