NEW COMBINATION PRINTER IS THE RIGHT PRESCRIPTION
Improved Dual Printing Technology for the
Retail Market
Star Micronics, leading POS printer manufacturer,
announced today the latest version of the SCP700, which combines
thermal receipt and impact slip technologies in one unit.
As well as being able to print both slip and
thermal receipts, the SCP700 is now the only POS printer able
to print thermal labels on demand and to validate pre-printed
slips. This new development will be of key importance to pharmacies
in particular, where the ability to print both the label for the
bottle as well as validate the prescription using only one printer
will be highly desirable, thereby saving money on equipment and
counter space. Additional applications will include warranty product
identification or product tracking in technical departments
anywhere where identification labels (with or without barcode)
and a printed update are required.
Able to print slips at up to speeds of 3.1
lines per second or thermal receipts or labels at speeds of 16.7
lines per second, the SCP700 is equipped with a serial interface
as standard and is able to accept an additional optional serial
or parallel interface.
Annette Tarlton, European marketing manager
for Star Micronics, commented, "This new development will
open up an exciting new marketplace for the SCP700 and will present
the customer with new and more flexible ways of tracking their
products in all types of environments. The facility of producing
labels and printed updates from one printer will also enable them
to save on cost and counter space."
