Star reports for aircraft refuelling at Gatwick

Aircraft Service International Group (ASIG) at Gatwick airport has announced today standardising on the Star Micronics DP8340 matrix printer to provide its aviation staff with key information on the scheduled arrival and ultimate location of inbound flights, equipping them with essential information to fulfil their refuelling requirements.

The DP8340 is used to output details from airfield operations on incoming commercial aircraft, alerting personnel as to whether the landings will be on time or not and at which stand they will be located.

Refuelling an average of 160 aircraft daily on behalf of Exxon Mobil, ASIG relies on the Star Micronics DP8340 to provide consistent, high quality and fast output. David Harris, operations supervisor for the company explained, “In the majority of cases, aircraft are only here for one hour, during which time baggage has to be managed, cleaning and catering organised and refuelling completed. The Star Micronics DP8340 provides invaluable information quickly and is essential for the provision of an effective, reliable refuelling service.”

A low cost, versatile matrix printer, the DP8340 is a stalwart within the Star Micronics range, renowned for its reliability and performance longevity. Offering two colour (red and black) output to 4.5”/114.3mm-wide paper, the DP8340 is typically used in record printing, mobile sales, receipt and label-producing applications.
