DAZZLING
PERFORMANCE PROMISED BY STAR FOR CEBIT 2004
December 2003
At CeBIT 2004, international brand leader in POS printers and
solutions, Star Micronics, is scheduled to unveil the next generation
in retail receipt printing technology as well as a host of new
products and features developed to set future printer design standards
in the hospitality and kiosk environments.
Taking centre stage on Star’s stand 2G2
in Hall 1, will be the company’s second generation AutoLogo™,
an integral facility of the TSP700 printer that enables retailers
to automatically output bespoke two-colour coupons and logos depicting
sales promotions relevant to customers’ purchases. Incorporated
within the world’s most versatile POS printer within its
class, the TSP700, AutoLogo™ has been enhanced to include
a utility that guides users through the simple steps required
to instantly instigate or cease a promotion allied to specific
products. The utility has been developed to enable even a PC novice
to confidently use AutoLogo, via preset templates and style guides
as well as instruction prompts, to design and instantly output
coupons at either the top or bottom of receipts. A feature quickly
being recognised by retailers worldwide as a simple effective
marketing tool, AutoLogo requires no expensive system software
changes or IT department support and is available as part of the
cost of a standard receipt printer.
In addition, Star Micronics will be demonstrating
the latest in its extensive range of kiosk printers and mechanisms
at CeBIT, bringing to market products that will meet the configuration,
cost and performance requirements of OEMs regardless of the kiosk
design or environment.
Shown for the first time on an international stage, the MRS100
will also be at CeBIT. A new, low cost ‘communicating’
rewritable card system the MRS100 is capable of working independently
or as a component part and offering the further versatility of
incorporating a proximity RF/ID, magnetic stripe, IC chip or barcode
reader.
The company will also be underscoring its commitment
to a policy for product development particular to key markets.
For the hospitality sector, Star will be launching a new power
adapter box as well as black cash till, in addition to showing
an extensive array of new features and functions exclusive to
the needs of the market.
Annette Tarlton, marketing manager, EMEA, for
Star Micronics, predicts a prosperous show, saying of the forthcoming
